Burst and frozen pipes

If you have a burst pipe or frozen pipe, turn off your water immediately (stop taps can normally be found next to your kitchen sink) and contact a
24 hour emergency plumber on 07709 423 307.

Beat the winter blue's during the next cold snap by following three basic rules:

  1. Avoid frozen pipes by making sure they are properly insulated.
  2. Get your central heating system power flushed to make sure there are no cold radiators on the circuit.
  3. Turn off the water supply to garden taps.

    Avoid disaster...

During the winter months, frozen and thawing pipes are the most common plumbing emergencies. Taking a few basic steps can reduce the chances of disaster striking your home:

  • Set your central heating timer to come on both in the morning and evening for a short while.
  • Make sure your pipes and tanks are suitably insulated.
  • If your away from home for any period of time, turn your water supply off, so if an incident does occur, the damage will be limited and have a neighbour check your property.
